Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Skills Class for Stress

with Dr. Jeanne Jakob, PhD, ABPP

This group-based (Zoom) educational experience provides the fundamentals of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with additional concepts drawn from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). The class is didactic with Jeanne reviewing fundamental teachings in ACT/CBT/DBT based on her 20-years of experience and career as a board-certified clinical psychologist. This is a closed class; No additional participants can enroll once the 8-session module starts.  Class size is 6-8 participants.

  • Class eligibility: California Residents; 18 years or older
    • A 15-minute complimentary phone consult will be scheduled prior to enrollment to determine fit; Class is open to general public and mental health clinicians – NO CEUs offered
  • Cost: $125/session (paid in 1 or 2 installments); Class is eligible for Lyra Health coverage; Limited number of sliding fee spots available

SCREENING FOR ELIGIBILITY: Before group enrollment, Dr. Jakob or her assistant Kyla will reach out to collect more information about you by email or phone to determine if this class will be a good fit for you. You can ask more questions during those discussions. This class is NOT appropriate for individuals with primary substance use/addiction, eating disorders, self-harm behaviors, or treatment-resistant depression symptoms that are not being actively monitored/treated by another provider. If a participant is engaged in psychotherapy or medication management, Dr. Jakob may require permission to consult with collaborating providers as a pre-requisite for class participation.

LYRA HEALTH: Jeanne is an out-of-network provider for all insurance plans except Lyra Health. If using Lyra benefits, group sessions count against participants’ Lyra annual allotted session count which vary from employer to employer. Inquire directly with your HR/Lyra Health to determine your Lyra benefits. PAYMENT FOR ON-DEMAND RECORDING OF PRE-PLANNED MISSED OR CANCELED SESSIONS IS BILLED AT THE OUT-OF-POCKET, SELF-PAY PER SESSION RATE.

SELF-PAY: Enrollment in the 8-session group can be paid in full ($1000) before session #1 or in 2 installments ($500 before session #1 and $500 before session #5). There will be no refunds for missed sessions, except for cancellations due to Jeanne’s unforeseen circumstances. Access to On-Demand Recordings of missed sessions will be provided after missed sessions. A superbill with CPT code 90853 can be provided upon request. Superbills CANNOT be provided for sessions that are not attended LIVE.
